**The 10,000 Bitcoin Pizza**

On May 22, 2010, a software developer known as Laszlo made history by purchasing two of the most expensive pizzas ever sold. At the time, Bitcoin's value was minimal, and early miners had little use for their "funny money." On a Bitcoin forum, Laszlo offered 10,000 bitcoins to anyone who would deliver him two pizzas.

Back then, the transaction seemed perfectly reasonable, and Laszlo didn't overpay for his now-famous meal. However, by August of that year, the value of those two pizzas had risen to $600. Today, those pizzas would be worth an astounding $640 million.

Each year on May 22, the crypto community celebrates Bitcoin Pizza Day to commemorate this historic transaction.
