PANews reported on August 24 that according to the survey results released by Coingecko, the most commonly used social media platforms in the crypto community are X (formerly known as Twitter), Telegram and YouTube, accounting for 41.7%, 21.5% and 20.8% respectively, totaling about 84%. Other social media do not seem to be favored by the crypto community. For example, Discord, Reddit and Farcaster all account for less than "double digits", at 6.8%, 4.5% and 1.3% respectively. In addition, the survey found that most members of the crypto community get news and information from social media platforms rather than news websites. The proportion of users who get most of the crypto-related information from X, YouTube or Telegram is 73.8%, while news websites lag far behind, with only 6.5% of the survey participants using news websites as their main source of information.
