The famous footballer has faced legal troubles due to a partnership deal with leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

In late May 2024, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a deal with the platform to promote the NFT collection Forever Worldwide: The road to Saudi Arabia. The promotion culminated in an auction on June 14, where rare NFTs were presented.

This is the fourth collection that the footballer has promoted for the Binance NFT service. Together with the celebrity, the exchange created non-fungible tokens about Ronaldo's career in Madeira, Lisbon, Manchester, Madrid, Turin, Saudi Arabia and Portugal.

The football star signed his first contract with Binance in October 2023 to promote the ForeverZone collection. And in November of the same year, Ronaldo was accused of encouraging investors and his fans to buy unregistered securities.

The class action lawsuit accused the celebrity of negligence and concealing potential risks of crypto exchange transactions. In addition, the plaintiffs claimed that it was thanks to Ronaldo that the number of requests for the Binance crypto exchange increased by 500%.

On May 4, 2024, the footballer's lawyers asked the court to dismiss the class action lawsuit. However, the day before it became known that Judge Roy Altman sided with the plaintiffs.#binance #Bitcoin
