Tether CEO Paolo Ardoini wrote in a statement on August 23: "Tether is firmly committed to supporting global law enforcement agencies in combating the illegal use of cryptocurrencies." Since its launch, Tether has "voluntarily blocked" more than 1,900 cryptocurrency wallets related to illegal activities worldwide.
