FBI Offers $5 Million Reward for Ruja Ignatova
Ruja Ignatova, dubbed the "Queen of Cryptocurrency," orchestrated one of the most significant crypto scams in history with the 2014 launch of OneCoin. By 2017, after defrauding investors of $4 billion, she vanished without a trace, earning her a spot on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list. Despite extensive global efforts, her whereabouts remain unknown.
OneCoin, falsely marketed as a "Bitcoin Killer," duped millions into investing their savings. Touted as a groundbreaking cryptocurrency, it was, in reality, a massive Ponzi scheme with no actual blockchain or mining infrastructure. The xcoinx exchange, associated with OneCoin, was suddenly shut down in 2017, leaving investors unable to withdraw their funds.
As authorities closed in, Ignatova disappeared, leaving a legacy of financial devastation. Her fraudulent activities have led to numerous arrests, including that of her brother and co-founder, but she remains one of the most elusive figures in the cryptocurrency world.
