Why have #Aptos in your wallet?
$APT is a Layer 1 project.
It is designed as a high-performance blockchain network for Web3 and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. Aptos is a continuation of the Diem project developed by former Meta (Facebook) employees. The main goal of Aptos is to offer a network that can handle thousands of transactions per second, increasing security and scalability.
Aptos uses a special programming language called Move, inherited from the Diem project. High security can be ensured on the network even if a smart contract written in Move malfunctions.
Aptos uses a parallel transaction processing engine called Block-STM. This technology can process multiple transactions at the same time, greatly increasing the transaction capacity (TPS). While on other Layer 1 blockchains, transactions are usually performed sequentially, Aptos has the potential to process up to 160,000 transactions per second thanks to its parallel transaction processing capability. This is much faster compared to Ethereum and many other blockchains.
Aptos uses the Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus mechanism for high-security and low latency transactions. This mechanism maintains the integrity of transactions and the stability of the network even in the event of a failure or attack on the network. Other Layer 1 blockchains can also use BFT, but Aptos' implementation is optimized for performance and scalability.
Aptos is equipped with advanced system-wide security and verification methods. Using State Machine Replication (SMR) technology, the reliability of transactions and smart contracts performed on the network is ensured, helping to protect user funds and data integrity.
The network can flexibly scale according to users' needs and improve its performance with new updates.
