Andreas Szakacs was caught in Istanbul as one of the names who signed one of the world's biggest cryptocurrency scams. Szakacs, a Swedish citizen, had become a Turkish citizen in Turkey by taking the name "Emre Avcı". Szakacs scammed millions of people by making a $4 billion scam through a cryptocurrency platform called OmegaPro.
He was taken into custody in an operation at his luxury villa in Beykoz, Istanbul. During the operation, 32 cold wallets containing cryptocurrencies and many digital materials were seized. It is stated that OmegaPro has victimized more than 3 million people worldwide and many lawsuits have been filed in different countries. Szakacs denies the accusations and claims that the company is bankrupt.
