According to CoinDesk, the registered securities company Prometheum plans to accept UNI and ARB as securities custody and add them to its existing Ethereum custody plan. The company intends to officially open its custody service in September. Prometheum’s earlier announcement of custody of ETH for customers raised questions among some critics.

Prometheu said that treating UNI and ARB tokens as securities is to make Prometheum comply with the US digital asset trading laws upheld by the SEC. When asked why Prometheum chose UNI and ARB, Benjamin Kaplan, CEO of Prometheum Capital, replied, "Prometheum Capital intends to provide investors with access to top digital assets over time, as well as tokenized assets, debt, stocks, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, options, currency markets and other investment contract products issued and transferred on the blockchain."

Prometheum is the first and only formally established crypto-asset-specific broker-dealer in the United States, registered as a custodian and responsible for the clearing and settlement of digital asset transactions.
