BANK OF GHANA INTRODUCES CRYPTO REGULATIONS
The Bank of Ghana has rolled out a new set of regulations for the cryptocurrency sector, requiring Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) to register and adhere to stringent standards. Additionally, commercial banks will no longer be allowed to engage directly with crypto businesses under this framework.
These regulations aim to enhance financial inclusion while mitigating risks such as money laundering and fraud.
The public is invited to provide their input on these proposed rules before they are finalized on August 31.
