According to Techub News, Montenegrin authorities announced that they had arrested Roman Ziemian, co-founder of FutureNet, on suspicion of a $21 million cryptocurrency scam. The Montenegrin Police Department said a special police force found Ziemian living under a fake identity in the capital Podgorica. South Korea and Roman Ziemian's home country Poland have issued arrest warrants for him, accusing him of fraud, money laundering and theft.

Police said Roman Ziemian could face life imprisonment in South Korea. Police also seized equipment and items suspected of being used by Roman Ziemian to commit crimes. Roman Ziemian will appear in the High Court in Podgorica to determine his extradition.

FutureNet was co-founded by Roman Ziemian and Stephan Morgenstern in 2018 and was warned by Polish authorities that it might be a Ponzi scheme. In mid-2020, South Korean authorities began investigating FutureNet after 950 people claimed to have lost millions in investments in the project. Stephan Morgenstern was arrested in Albania in August 2023 and will be extradited to South Korea.
