[Polygon executive: RWA is a US$30 trillion opportunity] Golden Finance reported that Colin Butler, Polygon’s head of global institutional capital, said that tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) represent a global market opportunity of US$30 trillion. High net worth individuals and private equity funds will drive adoption in this space as tokenization brings liquidity and accessibility. Butler noted that the current tokenized real-world asset market has reached $11.66 billion and is expected to grow significantly in the future. Approximately $9 billion has been invested in tokenized private credit instruments, with major examples including KKR and Hamilton Lane. Butler predicts that there will be tens of billions of dollars in tokenized private asset issuance in the next few years. Currently, there are approximately $11.6 billion in tokenized RWAs held on blockchain networks, with the most popular being tokenized money market funds such as the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund and the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund.
