#CARDANO ECOSYSTEM MUST HURRY TO PREPARE FOR CHANG UPGRADE: INTERSECT
According to a statement from Intersect on August 17, published by crypto.news, more than 80% of the operators of the $ADA share pool have already migrated to the latest validator node, 9.1.0. However, crypto exchanges and decentralized applications on the blockchain must also upgrade to the 9.1.0 node and report their progress.
In its statement, the organization said that the success of the upgrade depends on whether the exchanges reach the 85% liquidity target on the new node.
The Chang upgrade is designed to introduce governance to the Cardano ecosystem. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has previously emphasized the importance of the upgrade, describing it as a key step in creating a “Decentralized Nation” for millions of users.
The blockchain has already gone through several upgrade eras, each named after influential poets (such as Byron, Shelley, and Basho).
The upcoming Chang upgrade will allow ADA token holders to vote on protocol changes. The upgrade is also expected to bring improvements to smart contracts, especially with the introduction of the PlutusV3 cryptographic primitive to secure data on the network.
