According to Cointelegraph, lawyers for Roman Sterlingov, founder of cryptocurrency mixing service provider Bitcoin Fog, have opposed a "long" prison sentence following his conviction on money laundering charges. In a filing with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on August 15, Sterlingov's legal team did not appear to make a specific sentencing recommendation for prosecutors' proposal that he should serve 20 to 30 years in prison. The lawyers claimed that the government's suggestion was "unfounded" based on the verdicts in similar cases. In March of this year, Bitcoin Fog founder Roman Sterlingov was convicted by a federal court in Washington.
