ChainCatcher reported that according to the Bangkok Post, Thai police are hunting for four Chinese suspects who broke into a mansion in Pathum Thani and forced their Chinese victims to transfer $2 million (about 70 million baht) in digital currency.
The incident took place at around 2am on Wednesday at a house in Ban Mai subdistrict, Muang district, where six occupants, three men and three women, were inside. One of the victims was identified as Ke Jibao, 35, a Chinese businessman. The intruder ordered Mr Ke to call a relative in China to transfer $2 million in digital currency to their account.
Colonel Narong Iamrahong, chief of Pak Khlong Rangsit police station, said investigators were reviewing footage from other security cameras in the area to track down the suspect. He also said the victim and neighbours would be further questioned.
