Thank you for your continued support, we can't wait for you to experience the new fighter! The following is a more detailed update list for this version, you can take a look when you have time.
No longer missing
Patriot Power Rusty is now available in the game and can participate in duels
New venues
The old audience has been replaced by a new cityscape. At first, this was just a test so we could quickly add more backgrounds and create more different venues. Once the test was complete, we thought it looked great and opened up a lot of possibilities.
Added a subtle parallax skybox effect to the background
New Game Camera System
To make the matches feel more like live broadcasts, we have added a total of 8 new cameras. These cameras can seamlessly switch between different perspectives at various parts of the match, from the beginning to the end, to enhance the overall viewing/game experience.
Overall game interface update
Added a Gladiator-themed foam finger as a cursor
It is currently a generic mode, but may be expanded in future updates
If you like this custom cursor, we can always add more to further personalize your gaming experience.
New robot opponents await
We've replaced the base model, Barry Greenhorn. Who's the new one? Most likely the legendary Wuff Blitzer. Which Wuff Blitzer? Simply sign your name on the dotted line and come to the tournament to see for yourself. Unfortunately, this Wuff still has Barry's little head on his shoulders, but we'll make him a smarter, tougher opponent in the near future. If you can't find an opponent, we've got plenty of ways to make sure you have a more enjoyable gaming experience.
Game UI Updates
All round/match results text has been changed to the Violence font.
All text using the Violence font has had its kerning adjusted to make it easier to read.
Added a new Power Meter icon that animates more intensely as the Power Meter level increases. It starts off small and increases in intensity as the Power Meter reaches 8 or above.
All status and main UI text has added shadows and a black outline for improved readability.
The Winner and Damage texts are now the same size and animated similarly and consistently for each round. Each text has a reveal animation.
Removing PFP from the game frees up more valuable screen space. This is a case of adding by subtracting.
The on-screen "SET UP" and "SLAM" prompts have been changed to "FACE UP" and "FACE DOWN" to make it clear to new players how their opponents will view these cards.
Removed the ability to select the "FACE DOWN" card first (formerly known as the SLAM card). The "FACE UP" card must now always be selected first.
If you have already selected a FACE UP or FACE DOWN card but want to change your mind, click on that specific card and it will return to your hand and you will be prompted again to select a card for that empty slot.
The white outline border under the arena that was used to place cards has been removed and will never be used again.
The card is now placed directly above each player's fanfold. Previously it was in a hovering state and would not move to the play position until the player confirmed their choice. The previous design was not optimal and has been removed.
The particle effects associated with placing certain cards have been removed as this not only slowed down the game, but also no longer fits our aesthetic goals.
There is now a dedicated information space on the center screen above the game circle that lets players know when cards are dealt, when they need to confirm their bets, when they need to fold, and when they need to match their opponents’ bets. It also prompts players to select “FACE UP” and “FACE DOWN” cards. These prompts are all in the form of text animations to serve as a call to action. If their opponents have not yet made a decision, players are also informed that they are “waiting for their opponents” to make a decision. This change goes a long way to managing everyone’s expectations and greatly improves the player experience.
All actions during the game that require the player's attention will be displayed in green animated text.
Your possible hand of cards is now displayed at the bottom center of the screen, rather than in the bottom right corner of the screen.
The size of your opponent's possible hand of cards (which is always displayed face-down, as before) has been reduced by over 55% and moved further to the left of the screen.
The Power Meter and Health (HP) icons are now slightly stacked together and offset vertically on the left and right edges.
The ping meter is now located in the upper left of the screen.
The discard total (0/9 counter) has been moved to the top right of the screen for better visibility. Previously on PC and Mac it was cut off unless running in full screen mode.
Cards selected/played during a match are now slightly staggered. The "FACE UP" card is offset and slightly below the "FACE DOWN" card. We think this is more realistic for how players play cards in real life.
The betting HUD now dynamically displays right above the cards as needed, no longer wasting space or becoming an unnecessary distraction when it’s not the focus of the match.
