Microsoft warns of Iranian attempts to influence U.S. election — The Washington Post

A Microsoft-owned threat analysis center said in a report that in an effort to interfere with the outcome of the November U.S. election and polarize Americans, Iran is stepping up its efforts by creating fake news sites targeting the far left and far right.

One such site is Nio Thinker. It has a liberal bias, calling Donald Trump "an elephant on opioid pills in a MAGA china shop."

Another such site is the conservative-oriented Savannah Time. It writes about Republican politics and LGBTQ issues.

Microsoft also continues to monitor Russian meddling through Telegram and X accounts. These include a channel with the telling name TEXASvsUSA. The Russian accounts were created by people previously associated with a Russian troll factory.
