PANews reported on August 11 that according to Cointelegraph, the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) approved the "African Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy", which aims to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence in the public and private sectors by member states, including Nigeria. The endorsed strategy outlines several key recommendations, including the establishment of an integrated hardware and software environment designed for artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads to facilitate data processing and deployment. The strategy also emphasizes the establishment of an artificial intelligence governance system, promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence in the public sector, and integrating artificial intelligence into key areas outlined in the 2063 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
