Odaily Planet Daily News: Paul Grewal, Chief Legal Officer of Coinbase, said in a post on X: "Today, the SEC submitted a response to our request for important documents, which show the SEC's inconsistent views on digital assets and its own regulatory scope. If the SEC is going to launch an unprecedented law enforcement and regulatory campaign, then they should at least be transparent with their targets (and the public)." Earlier today, it was reported that lawyers for the U.S. SEC opposed Coinbase's subpoena requests, which sought to search for "basically all encryption-related documents," which the SEC called breathtakingly broad. The court documents filed on Monday are the latest development in the ongoing legal battle between the SEC and Coinbase. Coinbase attempted to subpoena the SEC and its employees, including Chairman Gary Gensler, for communications and other records that could help Coinbase defend itself in its upcoming trial against the SEC.
