According to Techub News, Cointelegraph reported that Australian prosecutor Campbell Thomson advocated a prison sentence for a user who received a large erroneous refund from Crypto.com in the latest trial.

In May 2021, Crypto.com mistakenly sent $6.86 million (A$10.47 million) to Australian couple Thevamanogari Manivel and Jatinder Singh instead of a $100 refund due to an internal error. By the time Crypto.com discovered the error during an internal audit in December 2021, the couple had purchased multiple properties and given A$1 million in gifts to friends. Thomson said the amount involved was "beyond" the scope of an opportunity crime and a prison sentence was warranted. The specific sentence will be made next month.
