White House officials and select Democratic officials will attend a virtual meeting with cryptocurrency industry executives on Monday to discuss digital asset policy, Politico reports.
It was reported that Vice President Harris campaign officials were also invited to the meeting organized by California Democratic representative Ro Khanna.
Anita Dunn, a retired senior White House adviser who will soon advise a $300 million super PAC for Harris and who attended the roundtable in July, also plans to attend.
According to a recent report, White House officials and crypto industry executives plan to attend a virtual meeting on Monday to discuss digital asset policy hosted by pro-crypto Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).
The meeting appears to be a follow-up to Rep. Khanna's July roundtable , which was also attended by people including billionaire Mark Cuban and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. This time, White House officials including National Economic Council director Lael Brainard, White House deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed and retired senior adviser Anita Dunn plan to attend the virtual meeting, according to Politico Pro.
Dunn recently became the first person in Biden's inner circle to announce he was leaving the administration, Politico also recently reported . Dunn will instead advise the largest pro-Harris super PAC, which plans to spend hundreds of millions of dollars between now and November to support Harris' campaign.
Dunn personally attended the July meeting and impressed industry leaders with his attendance. “He was very engaged, actively taking notes, doing that kind of thing,” Crypto Council for Innovation CEO Sheila Warren told The Block at the time. "For a government official of this level to be so engaged for over an hour...it's quite surprising and unusual." Dunn himself was reported to have described the meeting as "good and frank".
The report states that Harris campaign officials were invited, but it is unclear whether the campaign will send a representative. The report also states that other than Khanna, no other MP like Gillibrand is expected to attend this time.
