PANews reported on August 1 that according to Cailian News Agency, the Democratic Party is reversing its disadvantage in the 2024 US election. In the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, US Vice President Harris slightly leads Republican presidential candidate Trump by 1 percentage point. The poll was conducted online from July 26 to 28 local time, with a total of 1,025 American adults participating, including 867 registered voters, and the margin of error of the poll was 3.5 percentage points. The poll showed that Harris received the support of 43% of registered voters, while Trump's support rate was 42%.

After US President Biden announced his withdrawal from the race due to pressure from within the party, Harris gradually consolidated her position as the best successor and received a large amount of donations and support. Leaders of the Democratic National Convention said on Tuesday that Harris is the only candidate who meets the qualifications for the Democratic presidential nomination. Delegates to the Democratic National Convention will hold an online vote from August 1 to 5 to officially nominate Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate in 2024.
