⚡️Crypto industry news: Artists against the SEC!⚡️
🎨 Renowned law professor Brian Fry and songwriter Jonathan Mann filed a lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). They argue that the SEC's approach to regulation threatens the creativity of NFT artists.
📜 The lawsuit says the SEC is interfering with art by requiring NFTs to be registered as securities. This could set a precedent that will make life difficult for many creators.
💡 It is important to note that interest in NFTs is declining, despite the activity of regulators. In July, NFT sales totaled $395.5 million, the lowest since November 2023.
