Two hackers managed to recover $3 million in Bitcoin from a wallet that had been locked for 11 years after the owner lost the password.

Back in 2013, a person named "Michael" stored 43.6 Bitcoin in a wallet protected by a password. Unfortunately, the file with the password got corrupted, and experts at the time said it couldn't be recovered.

But hackers named Grand and Bruno figured out how to reverse-engineer the password program called RoboForm that Michael had used.

They were able to determine when and how the password was created and finally cracked it last November. Because Bitcoin's value had gone up, Michael now has 30 Bitcoin, which is worth over $2 million.
