At the annual Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, former NSA and CIA contractor Edward Snowden called on American voters to remain critical and distrust politicians. He noted that political figures and parties pursue their own interests, so it is important to “give your vote, but not join the cult.”
Snowden also expressed serious concerns about the privacy issues of the first cryptocurrency, emphasizing that Bitcoin transactions are not completely anonymous and can be traced back to specific individuals.
US presidential candidate Donald Trump, in his speech at Bitcoin 2024, promised that if elected, he would fire SEC head Gary Gensler, create a strategic Bitcoin reserve and turn the US into the cryptocurrency capital of the world. Trump also said that “one day” Bitcoin will overtake gold and silver in market capitalization.
At the same conference, MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor predicted that digital gold would reach $13 million by 2045.
