Question: Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your current position in the Movement?

Hello everyone, I'm Rushi Mansch, co-founder of Movement Labs. I am an engineer with experience in smart contract development and extensive experience in the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem.

I have worked closely with Cosmos protocols, contributed to Aptos as a core ecosystem developer, and developed the leading DEX in the space.

This diverse experience working with multiple blockchain platforms has given me a unique understanding of both the limitations and potential of various technologies.

Question: Can you tell us a little about the Movement?

Movement Labs is the innovative force behind the Movement Network, a modular blockchain ecosystem. Our mission is to empower developers to build secure, performant, and interoperable blockchain applications by effectively bridging the gap between the Move and EVM ecosystems.

We are developing the first layer 2 Move Virtual Machine for Ethereum, which is an important step in ensuring interoperability of blockchains. Along with this, we are building open source tools and protocols to facilitate the adoption of the Move programming language into various blockchain ecosystems.

A key feature of our technology is that it allows developers to easily run high-performance Move VM rollups. This means that we not only create new technologies, but also make them accessible and convenient for developers.

Our goal is to combine the best aspects of various blockchain technologies, leveraging the security and network effects of Ethereum, while leveraging the power and efficiency of the Move language. This approach aims to create a more scalable, secure and efficient blockchain ecosystem that can support the next wave of Web3 adoption.

Question: Can you tell us a little about the Movement's upcoming plans?

We have several exciting initiatives that I am happy to share with you:

First up, Our Movement Network's public testnet launches this week. This is an important milestone for us, demonstrating that our platform is ready for widespread adoption. We already have 15 flagship Web3 projects deployed and a significant total value (TVL) allocated to the core network. We invite developers to study and test our technology.

We also presented Building the Parthenon, our community-driven online journey. This program features six unique guilds that community members can join based on their skills and interests. This is a great way for everyone to contribute to the development of the Movement.

For innovators, our Battle for Olympus Hackathon currently runs until September 17, 2024. It covers several categories including DeFi, gaming, and infrastructure. Outstanding projects will be presented at the Integrated Movement Day at Token2049 in Singapore.

We have launched the Centurions of the Movement program for those who want to spread information about the Movement. Centurions receive exclusive access and play a critical role in shaping the future of our ecosystem.

These initiatives reflect our commitment to building a robust, community-driven ecosystem and pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology. We are excited about the future and invite everyone to join us on this journey.”

Question: Compared to the current tier 2 ETH such as OP, ARB, ZK and POLYGON... what advantages does Movement have for attracting cash flow from ETH?

We're not just building another Layer 2 solution—we're revolutionizing the entire blockchain infrastructure. Our unique advantage lies in our Move L2 virtual machine for Ethereum, which combines the best of both worlds. We leverage the security and network effects of Ethereum while leveraging the power and efficiency of the Move programming language.

This approach provides several key advantages:

1 Increased Security: Move's resource-oriented programming model significantly reduces the risk of vulnerabilities common in other smart contract languages. This is especially important for defi protocols looking to improve the security of their protocols for end users.

2 Superior Performance: Our architecture enables high transaction throughput and more efficient execution of complex smart contracts.

3 Interoperability: We are bridging the gap between the Move and EVM ecosystems, opening up new opportunities for cross-chain development and liquidity flow.

4 Developer Friendly: Our platform makes it easy to develop secure and performant applications, which we believe will attract a new wave of innovative projects.

5 Scalability: Our modular approach provides unlimited scalability, which is critical to supporting next-generation Web3 applications.

These advantages allow Movement to not only attract cash flow from Ethereum, but also create entirely new value streams in the blockchain ecosystem.

Question: What made the two founders invite other people (with higher education and years of experience) to join the team?

My co-founder Cooper Scanlon and I immediately knew we needed to assemble a powerful team of the brightest minds in the industry. Our vision for Movement is ambitious—we're not just replicating existing technologies, we're reimagining the very foundation of blockchain networks.

Inviting highly qualified specialists to our team was a strategic decision due to several factors:

1 Diverse Experience: Blockchain technology intersects with many areas: cryptography, distributed systems, economics, etc. By attracting experts from different disciplines, we provide a comprehensive approach to solving problems.

2 Innovation Catalyst: Having team members with extensive experience brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that are critical to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in blockchain.

3 Authority and Trust: In the blockchain space, trust is of utmost importance. Having respected industry veterans on our team helps build trust in our project among developers, investors and users.

4 Scaling Knowledge: As we grow, having experienced team members allows us to effectively scale our knowledge and capabilities throughout the organization.

5 Long-term vision: Building a revolutionary blockchain infrastructure is a marathon, not a sprint. Experienced team members understand this and are committed to our long-term vision.

Question: Does Movement support training of early stage developers or provide courses to train them?

Empowering developers is at the core of Movement's mission. We understand that the true potential of our technology can only be realized when developers are equipped with the knowledge and tools to build our network. That's why we're committed to supporting developers every step of the way. It's important to focus not only on the existing developer community in the Web3 space, but also on expanding the community through well-designed learning resources.

We have a multifaceted approach to training and supporting developers:

1 Complete documentation. We continually develop and improve our documentation to provide clear and up-to-date information about our technology.

2 Textbooks and manuals. We create step-by-step guides to help developers get started with Move and our platform.

3 Forums and developer communities. We've created active communities where both new and experienced developers can collaborate and share knowledge.

4 Battle for Olympus Hackathon This groundbreaking event, which runs until September 17, 2024, provides hands-on learning experiences and encourages innovation in many categories, including DeFi, gaming, and infrastructure.

5. Construction of the Parthenon. Our community-driven journey to the mainnet features six unique guilds that members can join based on their skills and interests. This program offers weekly questlines on Galx, allowing everyone to contribute to the Movement, regardless of their technical background.

6 Movement Study Resources. We have developed a comprehensive training center. It offers a variety of resources, including tutorials, documentation, and guides, to help developers and enthusiasts understand and use Movement.

Our goal is to build a thriving community of Move developers who can push the boundaries of what's possible in blockchain technology.

Remember, the best way to learn is to do. I encourage all developers, regardless of their experience level, to join and start building Movement. Our community is here to support you every step of the way.
