📌US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell made statements regarding the economy at the Senate Banking Committee. Speaking about the inflation and interest spiral, Powell said that they made interest rate decisions from meeting to meeting. Powell's six-month monetary policy presentation is as follows: High inflation is not the only risk we face. Better data will strengthen our confidence in inflation. Policy rate cuts are not appropriate until the Fed reaches its sustainable 2% target. First quarter data do not support the great confidence in the inflation path that would require a Fed cut.
