I thought it was fake news, but it turned out to be true! JD.com is about to launch a stablecoin! Opening JD.com's official website, we can see that it is clearly written on the website that it is a subsidiary of JD Technology, and it also leaves the office address and JD.com's official email address. So there is no doubt that this is absolutely true, not a knockoff.
However, one thing to note here is that JD.com's stablecoin is currently participating in the sandbox program of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. What is the sandbox program? It is a Beta version test, which is in the internal testing stage and will not be open to the public now. So, if you see anyone selling you a stablecoin under the banner of JD.com, it must be a scammer! It is not certain whether it will be launched after the test is completed.
As for why JD.com did this in Hong Kong, we don't know, we can only wait for JD.com's official announcement.
