Bull season trailer: Donald Trump hails Bitcoin!

Donald Trump took the stage at Bitcoin 2024 and promised big plans for cryptocurrencies in the US if elected.

Former US President Donald Trump promised to create a “strategic Bitcoin stockpile” for the US at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville on Saturday. The Republican presidential candidate’s opening speech looks set to kick off a bull season that will begin soon. The former US president, who believes Bitcoin is an asset that should not be sold, drew attention with the following sentence:

“If I am elected president, I will not sell any #Bitcoin that the US government currently holds or purchases,” Trump said.

Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that the US will “establish a decentralized network operated by the US Treasury Department. She also announced details of her own “strategic Bitcoin reserve” proposal in a press release stating that she aims to purchase a total of 1 million Bitcoins.

It is not yet clear whether #Trump and Lummis are collaborating on this plan or whether they are separate Republican-led initiatives with similar goals.

The former US president excited crypto investors by saying, “Never sell your Bitcoin, Bitcoin will rise like never before and I will fire Gary Gensler as soon as I become president.”

Trump, in his speech to the crowded conference hall, said, “I am laying out my plan to make the United States the crypto capital of the planet,” and the hall erupted in applause. He warned that the regulatory hurdles that have affected crypto companies under the Biden administration will continue to stifle innovation in the US under the administration of his likely Democratic opponent, #KamalaHarris .
