Ukrainian politician and ex-adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich proposed making the first cryptocurrency the country’s national reserve asset. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
The politician called for making digital gold part of official assets, as well as protecting Bitcoin, its holders and transactions with the first cryptocurrency at the legislative level.
According to Arestovich, Ukraine should buy BTC as part of national assets and “integrate the banking system with the Bitcoin circulation system.”
“Prior to the implementation of this entire set of measures, it is prohibited to prosecute people for working with Bitcoin. The spirit of Bitcoin is freedom. Freedom is the national idea of Ukraine,” the politician said.
