Bitcoin and Altcoins Lost Their Color: Mysterious Intervention from Elon Musk's X
Billionaire Elon Musk's company X started deleting Bitcoin and cryptocurrency images.
X, formerly known as Twitter, has been releasing a Bitcoin logo image alongside influences such as #Bitcoin, #cryptocom, #MAGA, and#BTCsince 2020. This made it easier to remember some words and provided a more colorful appearance within the platform.
But as it was noticed on July 25, X started to silently remove these hashtag images. According to reports, hashtag images belonging to Bitcoin, MAGA and other cryptocurrency projects were removed from the platform one by one.
X officials did not make an official statement as to why this decision was made.
Bitcoin emojis were first introduced in 2020, when Jack Dorsey owned X, then known as Twitter.
Dorsey has made efforts to promote the Bitcoin symbol to mainstream it into Unicode, the Unicode Consortium's text encoding standard. Unicode was designed to support the use of text in digital writing systems worldwide.
