Countless times when studying investments I hear business leaders seriously say, "I don't trade," as if it were a mistake or shame to trade.

I could cite Hispanic people as English speakers.

Nothing further from reality.

The profile and activity is different, and necessarily varies depending on the objective of the person carrying it out.

Similarities:

  • A self-respecting trader or investor must be disciplined.

  • They require studying, although the approach is different.

  • The intention of both is to eventually make a profit.

  • Asset prices can be important for both profiles, although this is not always true in the case of the investor.

  • Both need to register their numbers.

Differences:

  • The time that an investor allocates to the asset can be hours, days or longer before injecting their capital; The trader does not necessarily spend such time on an asset.

  • It is convenient for the merchant to allocate days and hours to carry out his work, such as a job, or his own business. Example: 9am-11am Monday to Friday.

  • Once the investor has analyzed his assets well, he injects the money and does not need to review his investments daily.

  • Fundamental analysis is required by the investor; On the other hand, technical analysis is mandatory for the trader.

  • For me, and this is a personal opinion (not official), a trader is not necessarily a speculator, since they need to be working. The speculator simply waits for the assets to rise effortlessly.

  • The investor thinks long term while the trader thinks short term.

  • The trader can potentially make money much faster than an investor, since they are actively working their assets.

  • For the merchant, the objectives may be more related to a second income, or their main income.

  • For the investor, the goals may be more related to: growing their capital, inheritance, retirement, emergency fund, beating inflation, possession of properties that add value to their finances, financial stability.

I know that no one is better than the other, it is everyone's decision depending on their objectives.

By the way, there are interesting products currently.

For investment, $TRU it still seems like a titan to me due to its market share and current competitive price.

For commerce, $XRP is quite interesting lately, there is a lot of talk about it, comparing it to $BTC
