Odaily Planet Daily News: The People's Procuratorate of Xuhui District, Shanghai, recently announced through its official WeChat account that the local police had cracked a case of illegally stealing virtual currency using a backdoor program. According to informed sources, during the case, Huobi HTX actively cooperated with the Shanghai Public Security Bureau to conduct investigations and evidence collection, using on-chain data to lock down criminals and assist the police in quickly solving the case. In this case, the victim Ou had millions of RMB worth of virtual currency stolen from a wallet software. After investigation, a total of 4 wallet developers implanted backdoor programs in the wallet software used by Ou to obtain user private keys, mnemonics and other information, and one of them stole Ou's virtual currency. In the end, the Xuhui District People's Court sentenced the 4 defendants to fixed-term imprisonment and imposed fines for the crime of illegally obtaining computer information system data.
