Wong Cheng Kit, 30, is wanted in Hong Kong on one count of fraud and two counts of theft. His associate, 26-year-old Mo Junting, faces two money laundering charges. Wanted for JPEX fraud: Coin Shao has been controversial over the years

Wong's most well-publicized incident in the past was in 2018, when he allegedly dropped more than HK$6,000 in cash from a rooftop in Hong Kong, causing riots among passers-by. Although he denied involvement, he was seen exiting the Lamborghini before the incident, defiantly asking the crowd if they believed money would fall from the sky. The Lamborghini bears the logo of the cryptocurrency he promotes. He was arrested for disorderly conduct in a public place and later released on bail.

Huang Chengjie also reportedly had legal troubles in 2019, when he was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit fraud. Huang Chengjie publicly promoted a mining machine with a price of five figures, claiming that it could mine the cryptocurrency Filecash coin (FCC), and guaranteed that the buyer would recoup the cost within three months. However, a number of buyers later reported to the police, accusing Huang Zhengjie's return promise of false advertising, and the amount involved amounted to at least HK$27.5 million. As a result, the police arrested Huang Chengjie and his assistant Mo Junting on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud, and a buyer filed a lawsuit in court, demanding compensation of HK$125,000. In a small debt claim case in December 2022, both Mo Junting and Huang Chengjie were named as defendants.

In 2023, the cryptocurrency trading platform JEPX was exposed as a fraud because it failed to apply for a license from the Securities Regulatory Commission. The platform used various publicity techniques to attract investors, and the incident was not exposed until users were unable to withdraw their assets. The police subsequently arrested 70 people and stated that as of February 8 this year, a total of 2,636 reports had been received, involving approximately HK$1.61 billion; the JPEX case was an important chapter in Huang Chengjie's controversial career. As one of the internet celebrities promoting JPEX, Wong quickly deleted all relevant YouTube content after Hong Kong authorities ordered him to stop his promotional activities, and was eventually wanted for the case.

It is understood that Huang Zhengjie worked as a swimming coach before joining the currency circle. It was not until 2021 that he changed his name because he was involved in theft. The story of a swimming coach who turned into a cryptocurrency KOL and finally became a fraudster has aroused widespread concern in society.
