The protocol has reduced the consensus time by 80% on the testnet, achieving a consensus time of 390 milliseconds and a settlement finality of 640 milliseconds. Mysticeti is a new milestone in the DAG-based consensus algorithm, which can maintain extremely high throughput not only by decoupling latency and throughput, but also in the event of network and node failures. Its main advantages include: the minimum number of rounds required to complete the submission, increased throughput without increasing latency, and earlier transaction submission. Sui stated that this is a gradual rollout process, and the upgrade will be carried out in several steps over the next few weeks.
