9 Billion Bitcoins and Altcoins Will Be Distributed: Another Exchange Started Mt.Gox Payments

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp has started distributing Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to Mt.Gox creditors.

While Mt.Gox made a significant portion of its creditor payments through cryptocurrency exchanges, Bitstamp was among these exchanges.

The exchange, which received the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash belonging to creditors from Mt.Gox last week, stated in a recent statement that they started the distribution on Wednesday, July 24:

In total, Mt. Mt., which collapsed after being attacked in 2014. Gox's approximately 20,000 former users will receive over $9 billion in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum as part of the refund process.

The exchange also said that UK customers "will not be included in the first tranche of distributions" but that UK customers should expect to receive their funds "within the next few months".

One of the exchanges that received a large amount of Mt.Gox payments was Kraken. Kraken has completed most of its creditor distribution so far. However, data from the stock exchange revealed that creditors were making withdrawals, not sales.
