Odaily Planet Daily News: Drawdy, a man from Columbia County, USA, admitted to selling expensive computer equipment to more than 40 customers and then failing to deliver it, and was sentenced to federal prison. U.S. District Court Judge J. Randal Hall also ordered Drawdy to pay restitution totaling more than $1.1 million and to receive three years of supervised release after serving his sentence. From August 2021 to April 2022, Drawdy participated in an online cryptocurrency discussion forum and received more than $1.1 million from at least 42 victims who believed that they paid Drawdy to provide them with cryptocurrency "mining" computers. However, instead of delivering the computers, Drawdy pocketed the payments and eventually stopped contacting the customers. In some cases, he would provide partial refunds, but asked customers to pay a "handling fee" to get the refund-then neither refunded nor provided the computer, while stopping all contact with the customer.
