Investors swapped more than $1 billion worth of shares of the new ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the first day they were made available, according to Bloomberg data.

Trading volume reflects only the amount of shares exchanged and does not provide insight into inflows or outflows of funds.

The largest trading volume was shown by Grayscale’s Ethereum Trust (ETHE) with almost $458 million.

BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) reached $243 million in trading volume.

The remaining six funds posted volumes below $100 million, with the 21Shares' Core Ethereum ETF (ETHC) performing the least.

Total trading volume was $1.077 billion, which is about 20% of the Bitcoin ETF's trading volume on the day it launched in January.
