Cool Cats announces comic book series
This week, Cool Cats announced that it’s moving forward with its comics venture: The brand is teaming up with Japanese publishing giant Kodansha to bring characters like Blue Cat and Chugs to life in comic form in the fictional town of Sapphire.
The Sandbox has just announced a collaboration with Kodansha's popular work "Attack on Titan". Cool Cats fans can see these comic books in more than 2,500 physical bookstores and more than 70 online retailers.
Doodles at the Toronto International Film Festival
The official Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) “Dullsville and the Doodleverse” preview party for Doodles will take place on September 7, and eligible holders can register now, and you can check your eligibility by making a Doodle on the website.
The news doesn’t stop there, however: this week, Doodles appeared in Teen Vogue magazine, rapper Coi donned a light mint green Doodles x G-SHOCK watch, and he’ll voice the character of Deysi in Dullsville and the Doodleverse.
Chromie Squiggle Farewell Casting Open Until July 22
Four years later, Chromie Squiggle — Erick “Snowfrow” Calderon’s signature digital art project that brought generative art to web3 — is entering its final stages, with Squiggle #9999, the final piece in the series, opening for a week-long live casting on July 15.
The Farewell Casting is open to everyone and will close on July 22, with the final sale in the coming weeks to be a casting of Squiggle#9999for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

MNTGE Partners with Black Book Records for Limited Edition Pop-up Series
Tech-driven retro fashion brand MNTGE has teamed up with dance music label Black Book Records for a limited edition collection, with sales beginning online on July 17 and a physical pop-up event set to take place at 1 Brooklyn Bridge Hotel in New York City on July 20.
The apparel collection includes embroidered Levi's jackets, black hats and special concert T-shirts, and each item in the collection is embedded with an MNTGE chip that unlocks special access to Black Book Records founder, DJ and producer Chris Lake.
Perks include exclusive pre-sale access codes for upcoming tickets, unreleased Black Book Records music, and exposure on Lake’s social platforms.
The collaboration coincides with Lake’s Black Book On The Pier concert at Brooklyn Army Pier on July 19-20, with special guests Chris Lorenzo and Green Velvet.
Cosmic Royale Beta Launches on July 24
French game developer Eden Games is partnering with Mocaverse, the NFT-based membership company founded by web3 venture studio Animoca Brands, to launch a new free-to-play multiplayer gaming experience later this month.
Cosmic Royale, an online battle royale game set in the universe, will launch its beta version on July 24. Moca ID owners can access the beta version for free and enjoy 3D rendering of their unique NFT PFP, as well as exclusive in-game advantages such as the ability to drive a kart.
Coinbase's Onchain Summer is themed after Takashi Murakami's 108 Flowers
Coinbase’s Onchain Summer event continues with an exhibition of reimagined NFTs by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, a collection of 108 items inspired by Murakami’s April 2022 series Murakami.Flowers.
The 48-hour minting window begins on July 15 and is available only on Ethereum’s second layer (L2) blockchain, Base.
Menswear fashion writer G. Bruce Boyer launches first NFT book about jazz
G. Bruce Boyer - legendary menswear journalist and former editor of GQ, Esquire, and Town & Country, has partnered with web3 publisher Alexandria Labs to publish his first NFT book.
Riff: Random Thoughts on Jazz, Blues, and Early Rock and Roll is a collection of reflections on a comprehensive musical performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City, in which Benny Goodman, a white jazz clarinetist and bandleader known as the "King of Swing," played with such prominent black musicians as pianists Teddy Wilson and Count Basie, vibraphonist Lionel Hampton, and saxophonist Lester Young.
At the book launch at the Armory on New York’s Upper East Side, renowned saxophonist Barry “The Bee” performed among the crowd, “walking from one group to another,” said Amelie Lasker, founder of Alexander Labs.
