$TON
The Open Network (TON) is a blockchain platform originally developed by the team behind messaging app Telegram. TON's main goal is to create a fast, secure, and scalable ecosystem to support decentralized applications (dApps), micropayments, and other digital services.
Some of TON's main features include:
1. Dynamic Sharding: TON uses sharding technology to divide the network into several smaller parts (shardchains) thereby increasing efficiency and transaction speed.
2. New Consensus Protocol: TON uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus mechanism to ensure security and speed of transaction validation.
3. Multichain : TON is a multichain network, which means it can support many independent but interconnected blockchains, enabling a broader and more diverse ecosystem.
4. TON Services : TON provides services that support dApps, including TON Storage for decentralized file storage and TON Proxy for anonymity.
After experiencing various legal challenges, Telegram stopped direct development on TON, but the project was continued by the open-source community now known as The Open Network.
