Ethereum was conceptualized by a young and visionary programmer, Vitalik Buterin, in 2013. At the time, he was inspired by the Bitcoin blockchain technology and envisioned a platform that would support more than just digital currencies. With the help of a professional team, he developed Ethereum and released it to the public in 2015. Vitalik Buterin is therefore known as the father of Ethereum and is also known as "V God".
Ethereum, created by Vitalik, is a decentralized, open-source public blockchain platform with smart contract functions. Its native token ETH is the second most valuable cryptocurrency in the world, and Ethereum is also one of the most used blockchains by users.
After three years of filming and production, the Ethereum documentary "Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum" will finally be released this year. The documentary was originally named "Ethereum: Infinite Garden", a name that originally came from the Ethereum Foundation. But since this is an independent film (not produced by the Ethereum Foundation), the team eventually abandoned the name to avoid confusion in the community.
This Ethereum-themed documentary was independently produced by the film company Optimist, produced by Carrie Weprin and co-directed by Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple. Linda Xie, founder of Scalar Capital and former product manager of Coinbase, also participated as a consultant. The filming funds came from 1035.96 ETH raised from the community through Mirror in 2021.
