ChainCatcher reported that according to The Block, U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel ordered the sentence of Ethereum developer Virgil Griffith to be reduced from 63 months to 56 months.
In April 2022, U.S. prosecutors said Castel violated sanctions laws and was sentenced to 63 months in prison for traveling to North Korea in 2019 to "give speeches and provide technical advice on the use of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to evade sanctions."
