Crypto Critic, US Senator Bob Menendez Convicted of Bribery
US Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) from New Jersey was found by a jury on Tuesday to have accepted bribes, including gold bars and luxury cars, in exchange for his political influence. It is reported that Menendez is a staunch cryptocurrency critic who has claimed that Bitcoin is ideal for criminals.
Menendez is also a co-sponsor of the "El Salvador Cryptocurrency Accountability (ACES) Act", which requires the US State Department to report on the risks of El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender to the US financial system. (CoinDesk)
