E0S RAM Science--What is RAM
Creating an account on the E0S chain, bidding for account names, and other operations all require RAM. These RAMs are gone once they are consumed. They are a consumption amount. Users can also buy some RAM in advance for future use or wait for appreciation.
RAM is what people often call running memory (Random Access Memory). It is a random access memory and an important part that determines the running speed of computers and mobile phones. In the E0S blockchain, RAM is used for permanent storage. For example, account keys and balances need to be stored in RAM, and the access speed is very fast every time they are called. Therefore, although it may not be the traditional definition of "permanent", RAM provides a permanent storage method on the E0S blockchain.
For developers on the E0S platform, RAM resources are very valuable because developers need to occupy RAM space to develop DAPP, and RAM can be used to store relevant data of DAPP (decentralized application, blockchain version of APP). To give an example, RAM is equivalent to land, and developers are equivalent to real estate developers. Developers must first have land if they want to build houses, and land is a rigid demand, because people always need houses to live in, so the importance of RAM resources can be seen.
