Bitcoin whales took advantage of the decline earlier this month to collect 71,000 BTC, the fastest Bitcoin accumulation rate since April 2023.
According to data from cryptocurrency analytics firm IntoTheBlock, this accumulation, which is worth $4.3 billion at current prices, occurred as Bitcoin fell to $54,200 on July 5. CryptoQuant notes that Bitcoin whales recorded the fastest accumulation rate (on a 30-day moving average) since April 2023, shortly after the collapse of some local banks in the US.
CryptoQuant analyst Minkyu Woo said, “This shows that BTC's bottoming process is almost complete.” On the other hand, cryptocurrency analytics firm Santiment revealed that small investors sold their cryptocurrencies during this decline. Santiment also observed a net increase of 261 in the number of wallets holding at least 10 Bitcoins in the first 10 days of July. Bitcoin is currently trading at $60,850, down 8.1 percent in the last month. Experts say Mt. Gox is preparing to transfer $8 billion to its creditors and the German government selling approximately 50,000 Bitcoins (worth $3 billion) is thought to have influenced the price drop.
The leader of the cryptocurrency market started to give signs of price recovery at the end of the week.
