The German government sent about 3,000 BTC to the Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitstamp exchanges, as well as to other external addresses. Police in Germany began making big Bitcoin moves in June, following a 50,000 BTC seizure from movie piracy site Movie2k in January.
But the German wallet is running out of bitcoins at a rapid pace, which could bring relief to the market. This, added to other positive winds, could motivate a price rebound in the coming weeks, as some analysts have projected.
