**Japan and South Korea By XRP Transition to Ripple Cryptocurrency Payments**
The Ripple network is preparing for a pilot project for cross-border payments between Japan and South Korea. SBI Ripple Asia intends to apply blockchain technology for cross-border transactions between South Korean and Japanese banks. The pilot project is scheduled to start at the end of this year, according to the Nikkei Asian Review
