An Operation was Organized Against Smugglers Selling Drugs with Bitcoin and Altcoins!

Drug gangs in South Korea were caught in a simultaneous operation.

Seoul police arrested 70 people suspected of producing drugs and selling these products in exchange for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. These types of malicious people continue to damage the reputation of crypto assets around the world.

According to law enforcement officials, criminals even advertised drug trafficking services on Telegram. Authorities managed to catch the drug traffickers with a simultaneous operation.

Traffickers smuggled and distributed a variety of drugs, including methamphetamine, ketamine, and synthetic marijuana. It was revealed that the suspects used raw materials from Vietnam and produced the drugs in their own laboratories in South Korea.

The group started its illegal activities in September 2023 and sold drugs in exchange for BTC until June 20, 2024. The profits made by these lawbreakers exceeded $4.3 million.

Police tracked down the man using CCTV footage. Having seized his mobile phone, law enforcement officers were able to track the details of illegal transactions for cryptocurrencies and contact the organizers of the group via Telegram.

Approximately 2,000 places where hidden drugs were located were identified and a total of 40 kg of prohibited substances were seized. Many members of the criminal group, including the gang leader, remain at large. Authorities think these people may have fled to the Philippines.
