Can BTC price hold the $60,000 mark?
The upward momentum in BTC price is building, but liquidity is gathering at $60,000, trying to prevent the market from regaining lost ground.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $58,654, with bulls trying to keep the price near $60,000 during July 10 trading, fighting for support at a key trend line. BTC’s price relative strength index (RSI) has shown a significant recovery, signaling a positive shift in market sentiment. Bitcoin on Bitstamp hit a high of $59,459 on the day. Active Asian trading hours pushed the BTC/USD pair higher by 1.5%, showing a strong rebound from "oversold" conditions. In particular, the RSI index reached its lowest level in nearly ten months. The daily bullish divergence has been confirmed.
If Bitcoin can regain $58,400, it may test the $60,000 to $60,700 range again. The upcoming macroeconomic data such as the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) will have an important impact on Bitcoin's market performance.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin bears also appear to be preparing for a last stand. Liquidity at key price levels is thin but increasing, showing a fierce battle between bulls and bears as the market seeks to break out of the 1.5-month downtrend. BTC/USD is currently trading at a critical position between the 99-day and 200-day moving averages.
