About Horizen (ZEN)
Horizen is a decentralized, privacy-focused network that arose from the fork of the ZClassic chain, which itself arose from the fork of ZCash (a similarly privacy-focused cryptocurrency). Horizen was originally called ZenCash, and was represented by the Zen Blockchain Foundation, which uses zero-knowledge proofs (Zk-proofs) to ensure the privacy of its users.
When Horizen was in the midst of rebranding from ZenCash in 2018, it started trying to make smart contracts private. It worked on developing a decentralized network that supports private messaging, decentralized application (DApp) development, and publishing on private smart contracts.
ZEN, the digital currency of the Horizen network, is used to conduct operations on its decentralized platform. Binance displays and updates the price of ZEN in real time.
