“Bitcoin (BTC) briefly fell to $57,874 on July 4, breaking $58,000 for the first time in two months. The price has since stabilized, trading at $58,964, but still down 3.4% for the week.

Traders hoping for higher rates lost millions on long positions. More than $64.2 million in long Bitcoin positions were liquidated in the last 24 hours.

Other major and altcoins also fell significantly in price. Ether (ETH) is currently down 4.5%, Binance Coin (BNB) is down 6%, and Solana (SOL) is down 10.3% in the last 24 hours.
